Q: What percentage of patients develop post-extubation laryngeal
edema?
Answer: Surprisingly,
clinically relevant post-extubation laryngeal edema occurs in up to 30% of
extubated patients, but only 4% of patients need to be reintubated due to
laryngeal edema.
