Answer:  Meningococcemia causing purpura fulminans 

Other (mostly non-infectious) causes of acquired protein C deficiency are
  • Acute thrombosis
  • Warfarin therapy 
  • Liver disease 
  • Vitamin K deficiency 
  • DIC
