Answer: Predictive of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD)
Although hMPV is considered mild in the general population, in lung transplant patients, it may cause severe disease. About one third of hMPV-infected lung transplant recipients developed chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) progression within the next twelve months, with lack of early lung function recovery predicting long-term CLAD progression.
